Ring of fire in the sky of Iran

    19 Sep 2020

An eclipse will occur on the first Sunday of July (June 21, 1399), which scientists have called the most spectacular solar eclipse in a decade.

Site bars of gold - solar or " eclipse " occurs when the Earth, Moon and Sun are exactly aligned and the shadow of the moon falls on the ground.

The  eclipse  will be visible at dawn in the geographical region of the Republic of the Congo, then cross east through Central Africa, the Red Sea and the Middle East, and finally at the end of the Philippine Sea and the North Pacific.

This eclipse can be seen throughout Iran, although the amount will not be the same in all parts of the country and will average 48% of the sun. This figure will be 75% for Afghanistan. The further south we go, the higher the time and percentage of eclipses.

In Iran, this solar eclipse will start at about 9 am and will end at around 11:30 am.

The forthcoming solar eclipse will be of the " throat of fire " type . In this position, the moon is farthest from the earth and closer to the sun. Therefore, the moon can not completely cover the sun's disk and only hides the center of the sun from view. In this case, thin sections of the sun are seen around the moon, and a bright ring of sunlight appears around the moon.

The solar eclipse on June 21 will be very large as the moon will cover almost 99% of the sun. This  eclipse will darken the sky compared to ordinary eclipses, and its crown-shaped ring could possibly appear to the naked eye for a moment. Something that is not usually visible to the naked eye. However, direct observation damages the eyes and people should use proper filters to look directly at the sun.

There are only two seasons of eclipses each year, each lasting about a month.

The next eclipse that can be seen in Iran will occur on November 24, 1401.
